Reset button, take 2: Obama pledges to take ‘Hope & Change’ to Cuba

The White House is hailing President Obama’s visit to Cuba next month as “historic.” They use that word before the fact when talking about their foreign policy initiatives even though it’s more applicable after the fact when all that’s left is an historic mess.

A celebration of Obama’s upcoming trip is taking place in the White House’s East Room as we speak:

Having already apparently improved the lives of the American people as much as possible, Obama’s taking the effort south:

President Obama said Thursday he would travel to Cuba next month “to advance our progress and efforts that can improve the lives of the Cuban people.”

Obama made the trip official in a series of tweets Thursday morning, touting “significant progress” in resuming diplomatic relations with the communist nation in the 14 months since he announced the breakthrough.

How do you say “Cash for Clunkers” in Spanish?

Obama will land in Havana at noon on March 21st. The formal presentation of the reset button to Raul Castro will take place one hour later.
