Hillary hopes State Dept. changes procedures so future secretaries can’t hide secret servers & mass delete emails

Just for kicks, let’s start off with Hillary Clinton last year saying that every aspect of how she handled her emails was totally permitted by the department she headed up:

That’s all news to the State Department’s Office of Inspector General:

The State Department’s independent watchdog has issued a highly critical analysis of Hillary Clinton’s email practices while running the department, concluding that Clinton failed to seek legal approval for her use of a private server and that agency staff members would not have given their blessing if it had been sought because of “security risks.”

The report by the inspector general’s office concludes that Clinton, the Democratic front-runner for president, handled email in a way that was “not an appropriate method” for preserving public records and that her practices failed to comply with department policy. The review found that Clinton, who has said her system was secure, also never provided security details to agency officials responsible for safeguarding sensitive government information.
[…]
the report also provides a striking example of a department official appearing to shield the system from scrutiny. When two IT staffers raised concerns in 2010 that the system might not properly preserve records, the official said the system had been reviewed by attorneys and chided the staffers “never to speak of the Secretary’s personal email system again,” the report says.

The Clinton campaign responded this way:

“The inspector general documents just how consistent her email practices were with those of other secretaries and senior officials at the State Department who also used personal email,” Fallon said, noting that the report says “her use of personal email was known to officials within the department during her tenure, and that there is no evidence of any successful breach of the secretary’s server.”

Nice try, but Colin Powell and others didn’t route their emails through a homebrew server disguised as a dehumidifier.

As for the denial of any security breaches:

While the report does not find evidence that Mrs. Clinton’s server was breached, it notes that the Clintons’ outside I.T. consultant twice shut down the unit in the family home in Chappaqua, N.Y. – on Jan. 9 and 10, 2011 – because he feared that someone was trying to hack the system. “We were attacked again, so I shut down for a few min,” he wrote in an email to Ms. Abedin.

Only China, Russia, Guccifer and perhaps adventurous students in Mrs. Kimble’s 3rd hour computer science lab at Paducah Jr. High know for sure.

We might know more about that but Hillary’s former IT guy took the Fifth and refused to answer any questions.

The Hillary campaign’s spokesweasel added this:

“The report shows that problems with the State Department’s electronic recordkeeping systems were longstanding and that there was no precedent of someone in her position having a State Department email account until after the arrival of her successor,”

You can always count on a Clinton to “accidentally” expose the cracks in the system. If Hillary’s motorcade is ever accused of a hit-and-run their excuse will be that driver’s licenses are flawed because nowhere on them is it written that you can’t run people over.

Team Hillary doesn’t just hope everybody’s stupid — her political survival depends on it.

Regrets? Bernie might be having some now:

My favorite part of that video is Sanders warning against an oligarchy while the wife of a former president who’s after the same job nodded in agreement and shook his hand.
