Obama treats officers at memorial for slain Dallas cops to lecture about bigotry & gun control

I didn’t watch President Obama’s address at a memorial service for the murdered police officers in Dallas as it happened, but I did see it later. Obama’s address started out OK, then inevitably spiraled into an agenda-driven lecture, which is the very predictable reason I didn’t go out of my way to watch the speech live in the first place.

Five officers are dead, and so apparently Tuesday’s memorial service was considered an appropriate time for airing some blue-related grievances:

President Obama defended the Black Lives Matter movement Tuesday at a memorial service for five slain Dallas police officers, saying bigotry remains a problem in police departments across the U.S.

While paying tribute to the fallen officers for sacrificing their lives to protect anti-police protesters from a sniper, Mr. Obama also called on law enforcement agencies to root out bias that he said is contributing to violence on the streets of America.

“We have all seen this bigotry in our lives at some point,” Mr. Obama told an audience of about 2,500 at a concert hall in Dallas. “None of us is entirely innocent. No institution is entirely immune. And that includes our police departments. We know this.”

The officers — Michael Smith, Lorne Ahrens, Michael Krol, Brent Thompson and Patrick Zamarripa — were killed during a Black Lives Matter protest Thursday night by a black sniper who told police he targeted white officers.

Thanks to Obama, I’ve also learned that it’s easier to buy a Glock in the inner-city than it is to get a book or computer. Notice the lack of enthusiasm from the officers behind Obama (this is how “BULLSHIT!” is expressed without uttering a word):

Even if that were true, would there be people in stores finding out there are no books or computers available saying, “Well damn, I guess I’ve got no other choice but to buy a Glock”?

Obama actually did an unintentionally great job Tuesday of outlining the disaster that progressive governance leads to, but his list of divisions in the U.S. — specifically inner cities — didn’t mention that Dems have run most of those areas for decades or address why his wonderfully unifying leadership has failed to “bring people together.”
