The patented Clinton “I didn’t inhale” approach was given new life this week:

Hillary Clinton offered a full-throated defense of her family’s foundation after a week in which her critics suggested that donors sought special influence during her time as Secretary of State.

“We did provide a lot of life-saving work,” Clinton told CNN’s Anderson Cooper in a telephone interview. “I’m proud of the work that my husband started and he did.
[…]
“My work as secretary of state was not influenced by any outside forces. I made policy decisions based on what I thought was right,” Clinton said. “I know there’s a lot of smoke and there’s no fire.”

Hillary and her apologists insist she stuck to an ethics agreement not to let State Dept business intermingle with Clinton Foundation concerns. Even Politifact couldn’t find a way to save Hillary on that one:

The Team Clinton spin on the family foundation remains, “our pay-to-play shenanigans save lives, so shut up!

Also, Chelsea Clinton plans to stay on the board of the foundation, in spite of a previous claim that they’d greatly limit their involvement if Hillary’s elected. No way in hell Bill and Hillary aren’t going to keep a family member in the count room.
