Michael Moore tells Trump ‘Hamilton’ was just the beginning; Harry Reid inadvertently leaves Dems screwed (Open thread)

Another Sunday, another open thread with no shortage of stuff to talk about….

First off, Donald Trump said the cast of “Hamilton” was “rude” to Mike Pence, causing Michael Moore to say “I’ll show ya rude!”

If this culminates in Moore trying to climb the outside of Trump Tower using suction cups it’ll all be worth it.

Harry Reid’s retiring soon, but not without having taken a parting shot… at Dems. His move as Senate Majority Leader in 2013 is about to backfire badly:

Basically the Dems will be powerless to stop any Trump cabinet nominees because of Harry Reid’s ever-evolving position(s) on the Senate filibuster.

Here’s a video interpretation of what’s happened to Reid and the Dems:

President Obama’s message to Trump is basically “don’t make me come over there!”

President Obama is rethinking his plans to withdraw from the political arena after he leaves office next year, hinting to friends and supporters that he wants to add his voice to the shellshocked Democratic activists and elected officials who are now angrily vowing to oppose Donald J. Trump’s presidency.

White House aides say they expect the president to try to refrain from criticism during the transition because of his belief in the importance of a courteous and dignified transfer of power. But while the president holds out hope that he might influence Mr. Trump, he has made it clear that once out of office he will not remain silent if Mr. Trump goes too far in undoing his legacy.

“I’m going to be constrained in what I do with all of you until I am again a private citizen,” Mr. Obama, who will be living a few miles from the White House next year, told a meeting this past week of Organizing for Action, the group that maintains his political movement. “But that’s not so far off.”

Yeah, Obama didn’t buy a house in DC because he planned to stay out of politics, but it’s cute that the media is still asking the question like there could be any other possibility.

Robert Reich said it’s un-American of Trump to comment about speech that he disagrees with. But it’s patriotic when Robert Reich does it, or something.

Mike Pence took the high road after getting lectured by a cast member from “Hamilton” after the show Friday night:

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who emails released by WikiLeaks showed her working to tilt the Dem nomination toward Hillary Clinton instead of Bernie Sanders, defended herself this way:

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz pushed back against critiques of her tenure as chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, insisting she did not rig the primary contest against Sen. Bernie Sanders and argued she could have if she wanted.

“I will be frank with you — if I was trying to rig the outcome of the primary, trust me, I could have,” Wasserman Schultz told VICE News’ Shawna Thomas. “There are so many things that we — not I — we could have done to enhance the campaign of one candidate over another.”

Nice defense: “Hey, I only had a thumb on the scale, but I could have used something far heavier — Sanders should be thanking me!”

Donald Trump met with Mitt Romney yesterday about a possible position in the administration. The buzz so far revolves around secretary of state or possibly a post to fix the VA.

For disaffected progressives looking for a place where only the like-minded live who aren’t satisfied with Berkeley or Vermont, there’s always “The Bubble”:

Have a good Sunday all!
