Seating Scott Brown

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 3, 2010 02:37 PM

MA GOP Sen.-elect Scott Brown’s certification has been moved up from February 11 to tomorrow.
He’s already missed the Senate vote on Bernanke’s second term and on raising the debt limit.
Not sure why he waited to hurry things up now. But better late…
US Senator-elect Scott Brown this afternoon sent a letter to Governor Deval Patrick and [...]

Retreat: White House plays jihadi musical chairs

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 28, 2010 09:37 PM

President Obama’s rhetoric meets reality, again.
After pushing hard to try Gitmo detainees in New York City, the White House has now ordered the Justice Department to try and find other venues. They are still insisting on shipping suspected jihadis to federal courts on U.S. soil.
It’s going to be a long, [...]

The final vote in the Senate on the Federal Reserve chairman’s re-nomination this afternoon was 70-30.
Among the Republicans supporting Ben Bernanke: Alexander, Barrasso, Coburn, Cochran, Collins, Enzi, Graham, Gregg, Hatch, Kyl, Lugar, McConnell, Murkowski, Voinovich, and Snowe.
Seven Senators switched their votes after voting for cloture (the procedural vote was 77-23).

Oregon to businesses: Screw you

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 27, 2010 10:15 AM

Big Labor poured millions of rank-and-file members’ dues into a tax hike campaign in Oregon. It worked. The “wealthy” and the “evil corporations” will now be forced to bail out government schools and social services. Look for affected business owners to start Going Galt en masse.
The Oregonian reports on the gloating by public employee union [...]

The witlessness and un-wisdom of Ben Bernanke

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 17, 2009 12:27 PM

I discussed the Time Magazine man of the year, Fed chairman Ben Bernanke, on Fox and Friends this morning. In sum: Failure has never had such rich rewards. Via the Mises Institute, here’s a video compilation of his spectacular wrong-headedness about the housing bubble and the state of the economy over the years.

Here’s GOP Sen. [...]

The EPA’s war on carbon

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 7, 2009 11:28 AM

Eco-czars of the Obama administration, activate!
Form of…a corrupted “scientific” finding on greenhouse gas “public endangerment.”
Timed for maximum impact on the Copenhagen global warming treaty talks, the Obama EPA is set to announce that greenhouse gases endanger public health and welfare, paving the way for the green bureaucrats to radically regulate emissions.
Keeping an open mind [...]

Safe Schools czar now “regrets” failure to report child predator

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 30, 2009 04:26 PM

I mentioned Safe School czar Kevin Jennings in my column last week on Obama’s three Rs – rappin’, revolution, and radicalism last week.
Dr. Warren Throckmorton has done yeomen’s work unearthing Jennings’ evolving tales regarding his failure as a young gay teacher to protect a 15-year old student from a homosexual child predator.
In response to pressure [...]

The U.S. Department of Injustice

By Michelle Malkin  •  June 5, 2009 09:56 AM

My column today looks at the political corruption of the Obama Justice Department. With the crime-coddling crony Attorney General Eric Holder in charge, no one should be surprised, of course. Members of Congress who care about electoral integrity need to press the administration on who intervened in the New Black Panther Party case and why. [...]

Billionaire to New York: Screw you

Going Galt.

Corruptocrat skates, but he’s still guilty as hell

By Michelle Malkin  •  April 1, 2009 11:08 AM

Ugh.
The Justice Department filed court papers this morning asking a federal judge to toss out the conviction of former senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) on corruption charges.
The move comes as a federal judge was preparing to conduct hearings to probe allegations of prosecutorial misconduct by the team that tried one of the most powerful Republicans [...]

Chinagate-tainted Gary Locke “sails through” confirmation hearing

By Michelle Malkin  •  March 19, 2009 10:08 AM

I really don’t want to hear it later from Senate Republicans if Commerce Secretary nominee Gary Locke gets himself in an ethics mess after he’s approved.
Washington has been warned — not just by me, but by many other close observers of the former Washington state governor who have followed his career marked by sloppy [...]

AIG’s reward for failure: Another $30 billion in taxpayer-backing; Update: $61.7b 4th quarter losses

By Michelle Malkin  •  March 2, 2009 08:56 AM

Screw up, move up. It’s how Obama cabinet officials get ahead. And it’s how Washington’s favored failing businesses get more of your money. The first $85 billion bailout under Bush didn’t work. The second $38 billion under Bush didn’t work. So, hey, how about tossing another $30 billion down the hole?
So much for [...]

The whitewashing of Gary Locke — and why Tucker Carlson deserved to be booed

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 27, 2009 07:58 AM

I was amused to read about Tucker Carlson’s finger-wagging to conservatives at CPAC yesterday — apparently repeating the canard that the Right doesn’t do reporting like the vaunted New York Times and needs to stop “just analyzing things based on what the mainstream media has reported.”
Yeah, he really said we need to copy the New [...]

Holder confirmed: 75-21; Why GOP Sen. Bond voted yes: He’s a “good listener;” Roll call vote added

By Michelle Malkin  •  February 2, 2009 07:03 PM

Scroll down for updates, breakdown of B.O. Republicans voting yes…

(Design by Wes M.)
Screw up, move up. Eric Holder sailed through.
Senate voted 75-21. All NAYS were Republicans.
Stand by for roll call vote. Nearly 20 Bend Over Republicans joined Dems to confirm. Voting yes: GOP Sen. Kit Bond. Why? Because Holder is a “good listener:”

Sorry.

What will the Bend Over Republicans do with tax cheat Tom Daschle?

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 31, 2009 05:06 AM

Before we get to tax cheat Tom Daschle, let’s recall the names of the Bend Over Republicans who pooh-poohed Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner’s tax troubles and accused critics of “thinking in small political terms.”
On the Senate Finance Committee, B.O. Republicans Mike Crapo, Orrin Hatch, John Cornyn, Olympia Snowe and John Ensign all determined that Geithner’s [...]

Holder moves forward: Screw up, move up

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 28, 2009 12:16 PM

The Senate Judiciary Committee cleared the way for AG nominee Eric Holder. Only two nay votes — from GOP Senate Republicans John Cornyn and Tom Coburn.
Screw up, move up:
Eric Holder’s nomination as the first African-American attorney general moved to the full Senate on Wednesday with broad bipartisan support, as Republicans who earlier criticized the nominee [...]

Geithner, “tax goofs,” and the go-along GOP

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 16, 2009 10:00 AM

Looks like our GOP friends are gonna roll!
My column carries the ball forward on the Tim Geithner debacle. Two debacles, really: 1) The serial tax-dodging, ridiculous excuses, and bailout failure of Barack Obama’s Treasury Secretary nominee; and 2) Geithner’s go-along apologists in the Senate GOP. Underscoring the theme of my column today? Read this headline: [...]

Road to GOP redemption: Roll back the bailouts, draw a line in the sand

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 17, 2008 07:36 AM

While Republican strategists and Beltway blowhards convene VIP retreats and meetings and save-the-party parties, the road to GOP redemption starts right now. There is opportunity to be seized right now. There is a line in the sand to be drawn.
Right now.
The first step toward GOP redemption is to stop the automakers’ bailout and roll [...]
