THE RIGHT COLLEGE

By Michelle Malkin  •  November 22, 2004 11:52 PM

The Young America’s Foundation has a helpful new list of the top 10 conservative colleges:

* Hillsdale College
* Grove City College
* Franciscan University
* Indiana Wesleyan University
* Thomas Aquinas College
* Harding University
* College of the Ozarks
* Liberty University
* Patrick Henry College
* Christendom College

More details here. Wish I had known about them sooner!

Update: Reader Clain Anderson writes, “Missing from the Young America Foundation’s list are a couple of the largest and best conservative schools in the US - Brigham Young University and BYU Idaho. BYU has a student population of 33,000 and BYU Idaho has 12,000 students. Non-Mormons can and do attend both schools, but are asked to meet school standards of dress and to abstain from alcohol, tobacco, and intimate relationships outside marriage.”

And reader Chadd Newman adds: “Your friends there at the Young America’s Foundation had a major oversight…they didn’t include West Point, the Naval Academy, or the Air Force Academy. As a West Point alumnus, I can assure you that conservatism is alive and well there, not necessarily as an institutional bias, but more as a function of the type of person attracted to a life of service to the nation (as throughout the military).”
