END-OF-THE-YEAR LISTMANIA!

By Michelle Malkin  •  December 1, 2004 04:47 PM

Right Wing News delves into the fever swamps of the Democratic Underground and pulls out the 10 Worst Quotes from rabid libs.

John Leo compiles the 2004 awards for over-the-top rhetoric.

Quin Hilyer highlights the invaluable Media Research Center’s top examples of media bias.

And keying off the news that “blog” is the word of the year, here’s my list of some of the most memorable phrases, neologisms, euphemisms, and soundbites of the year (feel free to send additions):

Fake, but accurate
MSM
Global test
Wardrobe malfunction
Instalanche/Drudgealanche (and not far behind…Wizbanging!)
Digital Brown Shirts
Everybody gets a car!
It’s hard work (well, it is!)
Teh RAY zah
Post Election Stress and Trauma Syndrome
Jesusland
Unhinged (Liar Liar Creepy Liar!)
I actually did vote for the $87 billion…
Pajamahadeen (Day by Day’s take here)
Sorry everybody
Jurassic Marxists
Spider hole
Buckhead (the most famous FReeper ever)
I have a plan
The Syrian Wayne Newton (remember Terror in the Skies, Annie Jacobsen, more here, here, here, here, and here, here .)
Bush’s One-Finger Salute vs. The Breck Boy
YEAAARGGH!
Reporting for dutyUnfit for Command

More from reader Toby:

…and we have better hair!
John Edwards Promises the Lame Will Walk!
moonbat (see also barking moonbat; moonbats illustrated here)
Yellowcake
Department of Peace

Toby adds:

Actually, my favorite is Dan Rather’s reaction when Ed Bradley tells him Ohio can’t be won by Kerry even with 80% of the provisional votes. Dan pauses, then looks confused, then says, “So, what are you telling me?”

And my Gentleman of the Year, Sen. Zell Miller, gets his own separate list:

I wish we lived in the day where you could challenge a person to a duel.

You ask these questions and then you just talk over what I am trying to answer, just like you did that woman the other day.

Well, are you going to shut up after you ask me?

Get out of my face.

Motivated more by partisan politics than by national security, today’s Democratic leaders see America as an occupier, not a liberator. And nothing makes this Marine madder than someone calling American troops occupiers rather than liberators.

See what others have said
