WONKETTE TO BLOGGERS: F*** YOU
From Ana Marie Cox’s interview with Newsweek’s Richard Wolffe:
What did you think of the bloggers’ role in the Dan Rather affair?Answer: I think they did a disservice to the debate because they made the debate about the documents and not about the president of the United States. There was another half to that story that had to do with verifiable events of what Bush may have been up to.
Time magazine, which gave Power Line the richly deserved designation of blog of the year, disagrees. Power Line does, too. And so do I. The bloggers and Internet discussion board members who exposed Rathergate–from Power Line, to LGF, to INDC Journal, FreeRepublic, Ratherbiased, and more–busted open an integral debate about bias, unaccountability, and ethical double standards that the MSM did not–and still do not—want to have.
In any case, the woman whose biggest contribution to political “reportage” was this and whose idea of penetrating political discourse is this has some nerve complaining about other bloggers doing a “disservice” to public debate.
