ASK KURTZ AGAIN
It’s the weekend, which means we have another opportunity to submit questions to Washington Post media critic Howard Kurtz for his weekly online Q&A.
Here’s mine:
In your March 30 column, you and Mike Allen said the Post never claimed Republicans were responsible for circulating the Schiavo talking points memo. However, an article co-authored by Allen that was distributed by the Los Angeles Times/Washington Post News Service on March 19 stated that the memo was “distributed to Republican senators by party leaders.” It has now been two weeks since this unsubstantiated allegation went out on the wire. Don’t you think it’s time for the Post to (a) acknowledge what it reported and (b) run a retraction?
