REMEMBERING TIANANMEN SQUARE
It’s the 16th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre. Lawhawk asks: Where’s the outrage? Amnesty International puts out a press release, rather tepid compared to its flaying of the U.S. A candelight vigil is scheduled tonight in Hong Kong, where one protester dressed like Spiderman scaled a giant downtown TV billboard and unfurled a banner commemorating the anniversary.
The UK Times Online reports on journalists being detained for exposing truths about the Bejing butchery.
The famous papier mache statue, “Goddess of Democracy,” that rose and fell in Tiananmen Square is remembered here.
