THE GREAT WALL OF HAVANA

The desperate tyrant Fidel Castro is building a wall to try and prevent Cubans from reading the freedom-promoting messages being sent on a news ticker operated by the US Interests Section in Havana.

Val Prieto at Babalu Blog is tracking the story and has links to photos of the construction.

Writes Val:

Such is the nature of a totalitarian regime. Prefering to expend all [its] remaining resources on erecting a huge blinder as opposed to repairing the crumbling infrastructure of its country.
