Jeff Goldstein, who has been such an inspiration and good friend ever since I started blogging, is under attack. He–and his toddler son–have been the subject of abuse and harassment from a nutball leftist troll, who appears to hold a prominent teaching position at the University of Arizona (*clarification: she is/was an adjunct faculty member, not regular*) and seems to have a history of abusing and stalking blogs (also here). Some of the messages she left for Jeff:

“I’d like to hear more about your “tyke” by the way. Girl? Boy? Toddler? Teen? Are you still married to the woman you ephed to give birth to the tyke?

Tell all, bro!”

Somehow, Jeffy boy, I think you get off on the possibility of Frenching your pathetic progeny, even if it is a boy. You seem like a VERY, VERY sick mofo to me, bro.

After Jeff blew the whistle on the troll’s messages, his site crashed as a result of two DDOS attacks. The site remains down as of this morning. Jeff has been the target of unique unhingedness from the Left. His bold eloquence, sharp wit, and willingness to engage the other side have gotten under their skin. I wrote some inflammatory comments at a blog by a guy named Jeff Goldstein called protein wisdom that infuriated many bloggers and commenters. Many of these bloggers emailed my boss at the University of Arizona to tell on me.

In hindsight, the things I wrote were over the line of nastiness. I apologize to Mr. Goldstein.

I have resigned from the University of Arizona so there is no need for other enraged people to write to administrators there.

In true moonbat-style, she goes on to portray herself as the victim.

***update…230Eastern…University of Arizona communications office is checking into the matter for me and I’m told they are trying to confirm a few things and will get back to me…meantime, Frisch’s blog has been updated with an outrageous suggestion that Jeff might somehow edit the remarks she made to him:

When and if protein wisdom comes on line again, it will be hard to tell what Jeff added or deleted to the transcript.

Jeff hasn’t been able to access to his site for the last two days and still has no way to get to it while he waits for his host to move the site to a new server. How dare she make such an insinuation about the target of her vicious attacks? What, does she want to add libel to her list of transgressions, too?

Musing Minds was at the Protein Wisdom comments section and bore witness to the attacks.

I “witnessed” the whole thing on Protein Wisdom. Southwestpaw was Deb Frisch’s handle. Initially her posts were nonsensical and off-topic. She practically begged Jeff to ban her. When he specifically declined (in my experience you have to do something pretty egregious to get banned there),
she started with the comments about his kid. It was shortly after Jeff posted a thread showcasing her comments that the DOS attack began.

What Deborah Frisch wrote is inexcusable behavior for a blogger of any kind, liberal or conservative. Her comments about Jeff Goldstein’s son and wife are indeed unhinged. I cannot imagine any provocation that could justify them.
