If you want to talk fishin’, well I guess that’ll be okay

So many of yesterday’s questions answered today:

1. What was with the bird deaths in Austin? Sepuku? Mass suicide? The delayed effects of some Bushitler environmental policy?

An old roommate of mine posited that someone threw rice at a wedding instead of the more feathered-friend-friendly bird seed. I did her one better and suggested that Austin wedding-goers cut out the middle man and just decided to chuck the birds themselves at the bride and groom. This messed with my theory, though:

Early-morning passers-by said the birds first began acting strange — wandering aimlessly in the street, attempting to fly and making crash landings — and then dropped like flies.

The deaths are still a mystery, but bird flu’s ruled out, and vets are saying it looks like a poisoning or bacterial infection.

2. What was that smell in NYC?

New Jersey!

3. Did Romney really raise $6.5 million, and what the heck’s your problem with “Give a Little Bit?”

He did indeed raise that much with 15K outbound calls made by about 400 volunteers. And, “Give a Little Bit” was an appropriately topical, upbeat, and clean song. I just don’t love it.

Another boost for Romney today as S.C. Sen. Jim DeMint endorses him. Conservative voters in an early primary will now have a choice between the Lindsey Graham-backed McCain and DeMint’s man.

4. Was someone trying to blow up Miami?

Nope.

5. Who has the Saddam burial video?

Do you even have to ask?
(Content warning)

6. Did the U.S. hit its targets in Somalia yesterday?

That one’s a little harder to answer. There was a second attack today. Allah:

Same area as yesterday: Ras Kamboni, the AQ training camp where the remnants are believed to be holed up, although the AP reports missiles being fired at the road leading to Kenya, no doubt to slow the jihadi escape. The Ethopians say they’re close to capturing it. Meanwhile, jets from the USS Eisenhower have begun flying reconaissance missions.

7. Why shouldn’t I try carjacking?

Because of Titan, my friend.
Because of Titan.

That last one’s not really from yesterday, but it’s good advice, nonetheless.
