Twitter erupted in snorts and chortles this afternoon passengers on an LAX flight tweeted that Occupy Capitol One spokesman Alec Baldwin was kicked off their plane — causing an hour-long delay in their trip.

Brian Stelter took note here. Baldwin later tweeted that a flight attendant “reamed him out” for playing the social media word game “Words with Friends” at the gate here.

Anthropocon corrects Baldwin: “People don’t get kicked off planes for playing [Words With Friends]. They get kicked off for being an ass when asked to stop playing WWF.”

The New York Post, as always, had fun:

One observer hoped he had been making on his vow to leave the country a decade ago.

Alas, no dice.

As usual, my Tweets joking about the little incident were met with the usual, classy responses from Baldwin fans:

@boondocker2002

@michellemalkin thats a lie and you know it. can I book a manicure

As usual, Baldwin wasted no time attacking women:

An American Airlines spokesman declined comment, saying the company does not comment on “something that might or might not have happened” due to customers’ privacy concerns.

Meanwhile, Baldwin continued his criticism of the airline on Twitter.

He vowed never to fly American Airlines again.

“#theresalwaysunited,” Baldwin tweeted. “Last flight w American. Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950′s find jobs as flight attendants.”

Models of tolerance and civility, aren’t they?

The cognitive dissonance abounds.

In between bouts of anti-Semitic rants (that loony, Jew-bashing L.A. teacher was just fired, by the way), we have New York City occupiers holding up signs like this:

The perfect cheerleader for this mess of a “movement?” Why, Capital One bank shill and Hollywood elitist Alec Baldwin, of course! He spent two hours at the park yesterday — and all night promoting it. He’s quick to point out he donated his Capital One fees to arts charities. But as Audrey Pietrucha noted: “It is interesting, though, that Baldwin would choose to partner with a bank rather than, say, the National Endowment for the Arts. Perhaps corporations have their uses after all.”

Indeed.

Questions abound:

So, is Capital One a “Nazi Bank” or a “Jewish-run bank?” Does Baldwin get more up twinkles or down twinkles? And will MTV hire him for the new Occupy Wall Street reality show?

I joked last night that protesters should “Hide the women, children, and baristas” in preparation for the unhinged actor’s arrival.

But safety issues are no joke at these chaotic camps.

What's in your wallet?

**Written by Doug Powers

Police have made areas where Wall Streeters work off-limits, but if the “Occupy Wall Street” protesters want a closer glimpse of Wall Street enablers, all they might need to do is have a look around at some of their more famous supporters.

Three of the most prominent celebrity names I’ve read about who are supporting the protesters are Susan Sarandon, Michael Moore and Alec Baldwin. All have their connections to Wall Street — just not in a “teaching them how to live with less” kind of way.

Legendary Hollywood lefty Susan Sarandon, in addition to having reaped untold amounts of money by making movies for New Line Cinema and Warner Brothers (Time Warner) as well as Paramount (Viacom), does voice-overs in ads, one for a notoriously anti-profit company you may have heard of called Disney:

At last check, Disney stock was trading on Wall Street at $30.85.

Sarandon has also appeared in ads for Revlon, which at last glance was trading on Wall Street at $12.37.

Incidentally, Disney was the parent company of Miramax, the production studio that financed filmmaker and “Occupy Wall Street” supporter Michael Moore’s most profitable movie, Fahrenheit 9/11. After the movie was finished, Disney prevented Miramax from distributing Fahrenheit, so that’s when Lions Gate Entertainment stepped in. Lions Gate is trading today on Wall Street at around $6.96. Moore is in the process of suing for almost $3 million in additional profit from the movie that will finance his crusade against corporate greed for the foreseeable future.

Alec Baldwin has defended “Occupy Wall Street” protesters by criticizing how the police are treating them. Baldwin’s involvement also helps lend the stand against corporate greed the credibility that only the star of 30 Rock, which airs on NBC, which is owned by Comcast, can provide. At the time of this writing, Comcast is trading on Wall Street at $21.30 a share.

Baldwin also shows his support for the “Occupy Wall Street” cause through other public service projects, such as appearances in ads for Capital One:

Capital One is trading on Wall Street at about $38.80 a share today, and I’m sure the company will be more than happy to comply with demand #11 of the Occupy Wall Street movement: “Across the board debt forgiveness for all.” Occupy Wall Street protesters should have Alec ask them about that.

Now go get that evil Wall Street, celebs! That’ll teach you! Er, I mean them… sorry…

So on Wednesday night, I was on Twitter when the news broke that the U.S. Supreme Court had refused to stay the execution of convicted Georgia Death Row inmate Troy Davis.

As I often do, I simply re-tweeted a link to the news bulletin without commentary:

I followed it with four other brief tweets – here, here, here and here. One tweet noted that no SCOTUS dissents to the stay denial were released. The next tweet noted that Georgia Democrat Rep. Hank Johnson had absurdly declared “I am Troy Davis” in solidarity with the Death Row inmate facing execution. The next observed that the Occupy Wall Street mob had turned from demonizing financial industry workers to threatening the entire state of Georgia over the pending execution. The last tweet, taking note of over-the-top harangues from Alec Baldwin, jibed:

In Baldwin’s warped mind, my little jab at his pretentiousness turned into “cheerleading” Troy Davis’s execution and my reminder about the other side of the story — the long-delayed justice for murder victim police officer Mark MacPhail — turned into right-wing bloodlust. He sicced his followers on me…

…and the rest is Twitter history. I’m attaching the very best and brightest in liberal hate tweets at the end of this post for your enjoyment (language warning, as usual). Long-time readers of my blogs, columns, and books know that I’ve been exposing prog intolerance/racism/sexism/bigotry for 20 years now (see here, here, here, here for fun flashbacks). Twitter just makes it more accessible.

MSM and entertainment rag coverage of Baldwin’s Twitter meltdown and mob followers has downplayed and whitewashed just how crazy their “new tone” is. As Kurt Schlichter pointed out, Baldwin used the Troy Davis story to trash American military leaders and troops and outrageously taunted MacPhail’s family to call for the death penalty against the Bush administration. Baldwin jeered: “Wonder if the McPhail (sic) family will seek death penalty for US leaders who killed thousands of US soldiers and countless innocent Iraqis.”"

This is the link to that last appalling tweet. As you can see from clicking, he apparently deleted it. (The Atlantic also made note of the tweet and linked to it, but the link is dead.)

But you can find it in the Snapbird archives. Look:

**UPDATED:***And now, the tweet is accessible again.

**UPDATED:** Baldwin has blocked me. Snortalicious.

More:

Tomorrow, Baldwin will host Saturday Night Live — and he’s bragging about it to his hate-mongering fans.

He can run from vulgar tweets, but he can’t hide his truly insane colors or the filth flood he summoned Wednesday night that continues to pollute my Twitter stream.

Grammar-challenged, sanity-deprived, profanity-laced, death threat-clogged iberal tolerance — gotta love it, gotta laugh.

***

It’s hard to believe it’s been over ten years since I established PETAB, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Alec Baldwin — and the cheap website still somehow remains. Maybe that’s a sign. PETAB was established, if memory serves, in the late 1990′s as a way of saying, “Hey Alec, thanks for the laughs” — and not in the SNL kind of way.

The part of me that prays to be provided with daily writing subject manna from heaven still doesn’t believe Alec Baldwin will actually run for office — that would just be too good to be true — but hope does spring eternal:

America’s favorite fictional mogul could be looking to move his office from 30 Rock to Capitol Hill, MSNBC reported today.

The network is quoting sources close to actor Alec Baldwin as saying he intends to challenge Randy Altschuler of New York for Congress in two years if the Republican candidate ends up winning the House seat currently occupied by Rep. Tim Bishop, D-N.Y. The Altschuler-Bishop race is one of a handful still deemed too close to call; the most recent count shows Bishop, a four-term incumbent, trailing by less than 400 votes.

Baldwin is no stranger to politics. He has been both criticized and acclaimed for his outspoken support of the Democratic Party (he donated $2,000 to Bishop’s campaign this year), and in an interview with CNN last year, revealed his interest in running for public office.

If Baldwin’s ever be elected, the first question that comes to mind about the liberal actor who once “joked” about stoning Henry Hyde and his family to death and who called Dick Cheney a terrorist is this: How long it will take for Alec to be awarded a Nobel Peace Prize?

Via CNSNews: Has-been gasbag actor Alec Baldwin “slammed the influence of religious conservatives on Wednesday, telling Democrats that the Republican Party ‘has been hijacked by these fundamentalist wackos.’”

Meanwhile, Alec’s brother, Stephen Baldwin, who became a born-again Christian two years ago, has teamed up with Christian evangelist Luis Palau to produce an extraordinary documentary on Christian athletes called “Livin’ It.” Stephen recently appeared on Pat Robertson’s 700 Club to promote the film:

Stephen says he gave his life to the Lord at that time, but his interest in Christianity didn’t become strong until after the terrorist attacks on September 11th. In March 2002, Stephen was baptized at church.

He realized that there was not a lot of Christian content in the secular marketplace and looked at starting a company that offered quality Christian media to young people. After attending a festival in Syracuse, New York, put on by the Luis Palau Evangelistic Association, Stephen, 37 at the time, was inspired. “I’ve been to MTV and all of that worldly stuff,” he says. “It’s death. It’s meaningless.
