A special announcement at Hot Air
Welcome aboard, Captain.
Yes, Hot Air’s down; Update: Back in business
Update: Here’s more on the Rackspace outages.
Update 11:05pm Eastern. Don’t want to jinx it, but it looks like Hot Air’s back up. Maybe this post was the trick!
Check out Allah’s latest post on more Plantmania and a Democrat’s taste for “Buckwheat.”

Back in business
Yes, my site’s been down most of the day because of a Rackspace server outage. Grrrr.

Where in the world
FYI: I’m in Santa Barbara today to speak to student leaders at the Young America’s Foundation. Then I’ll head up to the Reagan Ranch–my first trip to the site.
Guest-blogger See-Dubya will drop in to keep things fresh here throughout the rest of the day, and I’ll keep posting when I have down time.
Happy Friday to [...]

About this “hate site”
My excellent comment moderator Rick Moran responds to nutroots accusations that MichelleMalkin.com is a “hate site” based on a few comments. Read the whole thing.
I second everything Rick says, and would add a few things:
If you’re going to get into it, the qualitative difference between blog comments on liberal blogs and my blogs is [...]

Talk back live.
Welcome to the new michellemalkin.com!
Extreme makeover.
I CAN SPEAK PAKUNI…
…and other things you didn’t know about me are buried in a Meet the Bloggers interview I did with Jeff H. and company. Check it out.
WEEKEND UPDATE: SKUNKED!
The fishing report:
Me: 0. Zip. Nada.
My five-year-old daughter: 10 bluegill and crappie. No keepers.
Me: A very unlucky Texas rig (lizards and pumpkin plastic worms).
Daughter: Nightcrawlers under a Winnie-the-Pooh bobber (can’t beat it).
The fish that got away: An at least 6 lb. largemouth bass that I will be sobbing about for the next 5 days.
A few [...]
BELATED HAPPY FATHER’S DAY
Hope all you daddies had a great one.
A year in the life of a blog
This blog turned one last week! (BTW: Congrats to Karol at Alarming News, which turned the Big 3 today.)
First, some blogiversary expressions of gratitude:
Special thanks to the following people for their warm welcomes, words of advice/encouragement, and early links during mm.com’s incipient days: John, Paul, and Scott at Power Line, John Hawkins at Right Wing [...]
REMEDIAL ENGLISH
I committed the unforgivable gaffe of using “myself” instead of “me” in my last column, and was glad to catch flak from many eagle-eyed readers. If only one of them had been my editor! Mark Goldblatt at NRO, who teaches remedial English, has a related pop quiz. I missed #7.
TRACKBACK SPAM
Power Line disabled trackbacks after receiving spam from pornographers. We’re beginning to have the same problem here (in many older entries). Let me know what you think I should do.
HAPPY APRIL 15th
At long last, a soak-the-rich tax that liberals want to cut.
QUICK LINKS
Am flying home this morning. Back later. Meantime, here’s some good stuff ’round the blogosphere…
Cassandra at Villanous Company takes down Jack Shafer.
Tom Maguire takes on Nick Kristof.

FLYING SOLO
Hey all–Back at my hotel in NYC after subbing for John Kasich on “Heartland.” Was honored to fill in for him. The Political Teen has video here. (Highlights at Trey Jackson.) The show hummed along pretty smoothly until the end, I thought, especially for an ink-stained wretch like me getting used to the hosting thing. [...]
WELCOME, O’REILLY VIEWERS
Welcome to my blog. If you are new to blogs, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy. My site is updated several times throughout the day (and into the night…I’m an incurable insomniac) with links to news items, analysis, original reporting, and occasional offbeat and personal posts. Keep scrolling down and also check out the [...]
MY P2P POST SPAWNS AN IMITATOR
Picking up where I left off in this post, Rob Sama uses P2P to find an Excel spreadsheet containing 13 names, addresses, salaries and social security numbers. “Not a bad grab for about 5 minutes of work,” Sama notes.
“I SHALL NOT DIE…”
1 O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his steadfast love endures forever!
2 Let Israel say, “His steadfast love endures for ever.”
16 the right hand of the LORD is exalted, the right hand of the LORD does valiantly!”
17 I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the [...]
TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES
Hey, kids. Sorry for going AWOL on you this morning. Site glitches seem to be fixed. Regular blogging will resume shortly…
FAVORITE PART OF THE DAY
Patterico has a touching post about putting his five-year old daughter to bed.
CORRECTION
In this entry, posted February 27, I wrongly said MoveOn compared President Bush to Hitler. The entry has been amended accordingly.
MOMMYBLOGGING: AVATAR PREMIERE
My four-year-old daughter has taken such a liking to Avatar: The Last Airbender that we are now sitting through a second, back-to-back broadcast of the premiere on Nickelodeon.
At least it’s an improvement over Mulan 2.
BLOG IMPROVEMENT NOTES
Many readers have complained about the font size on the blog. Thanks to my blog handyman, Mark Jaquith, you can change it now. Scroll down on the left below the blogroll for the font adjuster. We’ve also added a search engine located just below the font adjuster.
